First International Desalination & Water Purification Conference Held in Bandar Abbas Campus of AUT

The First International Desalination & Water Purification Conference was virtually conducted in the Bandar Abbas Campus of Amirkabir University of Technology, from 16 to 18th of February, with 700 people attending (in-person & online).
Dr. Hemmati, the Governor of Hormozgan province, pointed to the role of Hormozgan province in overcoming the country's water challenges in the future and said: "the expertise and skills of our specialists have not allowed harsh sanctions to negatively affect the country's technological ambitions."
Dr. Alireza Rahayi, Director of the Civil Engineering & Land Research Institute of Amirkabir University of Technology, said at the conference: "water transfer projects from the source has been discussed among water industry specialists for several years. The success of these projects is contingent on addressing three important issues: water economics, environmental economics & value engineering.”
In line with the key objectives of the conference, judges voted and selected three English articles and four Persian articles as top articles. The articles written in English will be recommended by the conference secretariat to the editorial boards of two internationally-renowned publications, “Water Supply” and “Water Reuse & Desalination”.
It is worth pointing out two names who were instrumental in holding this conference. Dr. Iman Farahbakhsh (Conference Secretary) and Dr. Mohammad-Amin Feyz-Chakab (Conference Scientific Secretary).
